ALLERGIES

What is a Hypoallergenic Cat?
First let's agree on the definition: Hypoallergenic means less allergenic, it doesn't mean allergen free or non-allergenic. In that regards, most Siberians are indeed hypoallergenic due to their lower than normal Fel d1 level. Fel d1 is the primary cat allergen responsible for over 80% of allergic reaction to cats. At Rozhenitsa and SiberianLove Catteries, all our breeding cats are tested hypoallergenic with documented low Fel d1 lab results, which are available in full details on the members' side of our website. Unfortunately, allergen level will vary in kittens; even if both parents are low allergen there may be normal allergen kittens in their litter. This is why if you have severe cat allergies, investing in an allergen tested kitten is recommended. If you are not sure what kitten is the best fit for you, make sure to fill out our application once you are a member. You may then request fur samples by mail for a $20 fee. Also check out the table below to learn more about how we classify the "hypoallergenicness" of each individual Siberian.
We are devoted to educating potential pet owners about the unique qualities of hypoallergenic cats, as well as the joyful experience they can bring into your home.
