The premature departure of our sweet, soft, gentle mama was quite a blow that took us some time to process. Gabriela died of hypocalcemia during labor. This is a condition very uncommon in cats, and our local vet was at a loss. We tried to get her to a specialist further away but she didn't survive the road trip. However, her death was not in vain, we are now acutely aware of this condition and we actually retired 2 of her daughters early because they also developed this condition while nursing their kittens. Both survived though and are now perfectly healthy in their furrever home. We will be forever grateful for all the blessings this lovely mama gave us.
