Where do I start with this soapbox opera...
First and foremost, I am not a bargain basement. This is not the dollar store and I don't do "deals". If that is what you want then look for backyard breeders that have "buy one get one off" deals and blowout sales. These are KITTENS we're talking about. Live, sweet and precious pets, not the 50% 'everything must go' stuffed animal bin at Walmart.
Second, if you can't afford the price I ask, then you probably can't afford having a cat to begin with. Any idea of the cost of food and vet care? What happens if the cat has a medical emergency, will you withhold vet care from the cat because you can't afford it? The most common answer to that is "well then I'll put it on my credit card". Oh, you have a credit card? Well great, then you can afford the price I ask as well.
Third, I am NOT cheapening myself because you tell me that you can get a siberian kitten cheaper elsewhere. Then go elsewhere and deal with the fact you get what you pay for. I have spent years building my reputation. I have spent thousands upon thousands of dollars to get me where I am today. If you only knew how much "money I make" with this (which is beyond nothing, I put money in every day), you wouldn't ask me to lower my prices.
Example: If I offer you a 10 month old male for $1000, then know I lose about $2500 on that. I paid for the cat ($1800), I paid for shipping from Russia (900), I raised the cat for 6 months ($600) and had him neutered and fully vaccinated ($200). and you tell me $1000 is too much? If I would have to cover my costs, I would have to ask $3500 for the cat.
If you don't like my prices (that are all listed clearly on my website) then please, by all means, go somewhere else. Find yourself a deal and be happy with it. But please don't come knocking on my door with your "my kitten died and the breeder won't replace it" sob stories and ask for a deal because you're so sad. You get what you pay for, you want cheap, then cheap quality is what you get. I had 5 of these this week. If you don't want to spend the money I ask for a cat or kitten that is totally fine but don't try to "negotiate" with me about my prices, because it's not happening.
If you want quality and you want a rock solid and water tight health guarantee, and you want a kitten that has been selected from the best lines regarding health, type and temperament from a breeder that tests for genetic diseases, shows their cats, to ensure good type and raises kittens underfoot, you come to me or other breeders who have the bar on the same level. If you want anything less than that, there are tons and tons of cheap backyard breeders you can find on the internet. Don't waste my time with your bargain hunting.
