Many people mistake the word "cattery" for what it really is; our home. We don't have a barn with cats, we don't have them stacked up in cages, we don't live on a large farm with outdoor facilities. Our cats live in our home, as a much loved part of our family.
We firmly believe in raising our cats and kittens underfoot, as part of our family. Cats and kittens raised in cages are not properly socialized as when they are raised as part of a family and all the interaction that comes with that. You can clearly tell when you visit our home that our cats are used to interacting with people. They will be all over you, making sure you will give them some love and attention while you're there. Our cattery is a closed cattery, meaning our boys are not available for stud service with females from another cattery.
We like for our cats to enjoy the outdoor world but given that it's too dangerous outside for a cat without any form of supervision, we opted to build an outdoor run in our backyard. It is still a work in progress, but the cats can go through a special window in and out as they please. That way they can safely enjoy the outdoor life and they are often mesmerized by all the birds and butterflies that come visit in our yard. Very entertaining for them!
We show our cats on a regular basis and compete with other breeders who show their cats as well. Our cats have won many titles and awards over the years, Two of our cats have been the recipient of the Judy Chapetta Cajun Award, and many of our cats are Supreme Grand Champions, Regional and International Winners. Our awards are proudly displayed on a wall in our office.
